Abstract: An open house for the Museum of Ancient Mediterranean Cultures at the University of Mary Washington. This museum is meant to be an immersive experience, where visitors can move in a reconstructed ancient space, touch the objects there, and experience what it was like to live in an ancient culture. The current installation is a Roman “fast food” shop known as a thermopolium. The installation is continuously evolving, so please come and see what has been done this semester, including a new mural, informative labeling on the thermopolium and its foods, and a side exhibit on the mapping of ancient Rome.
